Default Symbolic Signets

just an idea for a build as a bit of fun cos i was bored. it's probably crap but life goes on

W/R PvE

[skill]Auspicious Parry[/skill][skill]Symbolic strike[/skill][skill]Signet Of Strength[/skill][skill]Healing Signet[/skill][skill]Signet of Stamina[/skill][skill]Antidote Signet[/skill][skill]Tryptophan Signet[/skill][skill]sunspear rebirth signet[/skill]

Strength 12 + 1
Tatics 12 + 1 + 1

Pros: Requires no energy. Should be able to do 70 (+5) damage every 2 seconds assuming enemy attacks within 2 second recharge (give or take). Can remove conditions from self. Blocks some attacks. Snare

Cons: no skills bar signets. no conditions or kds. requires enemy to strike you for quick adrenaline gain. I'm sure you can find more

It needs some damage. Waiting every 4 hits means you deal like 4 damage, and that means you're dealing more damage when you're autoattacking (using a normal skill bar) without using up your entire skill bar.

You could go with:

W/D

13 (11+1+1)Tactics
12 Scythe Mastery
7 (6+1) Strength
2 Wind Prayers

[auspicious parry][symbolic strike][Signet of Pious Restraint][Dolyak Signet][Healing Signet][Tryptophan Signet][signet of stamina][sunspear rebirth]

As you do up to 3 times the damage with Symbolic Strike using a scythe

auspicious parry is there to help you get to 4 strikes quickly, therefore you'd only need the initial hit + an enemy to strike you to get 4 adrenaline to fire of symbolic, which in turn would allow you to use AP again (after recharge) and hopefully, with quick attacking enemies, a cycle is formed.

You are aware that a sword hits a single foe and a scythe hits up to 3 right? Using an attack skill with a particular weapon causes that attack skill's damage to get applied to the weapon's range of hits. up to 3 times the damage of a single hitting weapon and therefor also potentially building up adrenaline 3 times faster. In which case, there may be use for a better elite then Auspicious Parry.

This may be a better option yet. It has an IAS and increases damage, increases adrenaline, higher STR and penetration.

12 (10+1+1) Strength
12 Scythe Mastery
9 (8+1) Tactics
2 Wind Prayers

my bad

[edit] was gonna suggest battle rage instead but you got there before me

so, by my calculations it would take 2 hits on at least 2 enemies to get adrenaline for rage but then should be enough to active symbolic every turn (working on the principle that symbolic strike hits at least 2 enemies to gain 4 adrenaline)

I would change [[Dolyak Signet] and [[Signet Of Stamina]. If you need signets, at least take some useful ones...

there aren't many more signets to choose from. i'd take signet of strenght over those two, but the other options are [skill]signet of mystic speed[/skill] (pointless as build has no enchantments[/skill], [skill]Signet of pious light[/skill] (another attribute line), [skill]resurrection signet[/skill] (in some respects could be useful, [skill]lightbringer signet[/skill] (only useful near abbadon servant) or [skill]signet of infection[/skill] (again useless)

[[Signet of Strength], [[Signet of Disenchantment], [[Signet of Malice], [[Antidote Signet], ,[[Remedy Signet], [[Signet of Toxic Shock], [[Signet of Distraction], [[Signet of Shadows], [[Purge Signet]... Some useful Signets.

You can use:
12+1+1 Weapon Mastery (12 if you are using Scythe)
8+1 or 9+1 Strength
and you will be able to split 9 or 10 in Deadly Arts, Wind Prayers, Domination Magic, w/e.

You don't need tactics if you aren't using any Tactics Skill (Strength Shields FTW)

EDIT: You can even use [[Bane Signet] or [[Signet Of Rage] 'for the lulz'

if you want to think REALLY out of the box theres a bunch of fun mesmer signets that you can use. Interupts, hex removal, enchantment removal, skill rechargers, damage. if you want you could recharge them faster with a mantra too. You'd lose the scythe, but hey you'd get style points.

edit: i evidently missed the mesmer signets in picuso's post (signet of disruption and signet of distraction) they are two of them but theres lots more.

true, but the suggestion of using dervish secondary for quick adrenaline gain and hitting up to 3 enemies for +70 probably outweighs the benefits of those signets (given recharge times) and only hitting 1 enemy per time.

[optional][Symbolic Strike][Signet of [email protected]][Signet of Pious [email protected]][Signet of Pious [email protected]][Signet of Mystic [email protected]][Tryptophan Signet][Sunspear Rebirth Signet]

You can drop Earth Prayers @3 if you want to use Wind Prayers @9.

[[Signet of Mystic Speed] and [[Signet of Pious Restraint] can be very useful if you have Hybrid monks with you, but you need to be careful about which enchantment are you going to lose...

3 signets = +36 damage for 4 adrenaline
You at least get a half decent build.
